Taking a refrigerator, freezer, or cooler from the USA to another part of the world isn’t an everyday situation, yet it requires careful consideration particularly if you’re taking a model designed for the 115-120/60 Hz standard (as used in the US, Canada, and Mexico) to a region where 220-240 volts/50 Hz is typical; in fact, 220-240 volts/50 Hz is the standard throughout most of the world.

Hence, its essential to attend to voltage conversion requirements and use a transformer/converter that can handle your appliance’s wattage requirements, but there’s another essential facet to the equation: the frequency of the AC line voltage.
